Ongole: The government doctors in the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences continued their protest and boycotted the outpatient services for the second day on Wednesday.

They announced that their plan of action will be charted out after the response from the government on their demands like implement time bound promotion scales etc.

Dr B Balaji Naik, president of the RIMS Chapter for Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors Association said that due to the absorption of RIMS into the DME hospitals, the senior doctors working in them were losing promotions.

So, he said they were demanding the immediate implementation of time bound promotion scales before the absorption of the contract doctors as per the service rules.

He said that they were also demanding that the government implement PRC immediately, which was not implemented since 2006 and enhance their salaries.

The doctors said that they were just boycotting outpatient services for now and would take a decision on the future course, if the government do not heed to their demands.
