Thunderstorms likely in Seema

Hyderabad: The Southwest Monsoon turned normal in Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday. Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Visakhapatnam district. Rain occurred at a few places over coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts, the Met department bulletin said.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Araku Valley (Visakhapatnam) 8, Pattikanda, Devanakonda (both in Kurnool) 6 each, Peapally (Kurnool), Kanekal (Anantapur) 5 each, Lepakshi (Anantapur), Yemmiganur (Kurnool), Dowleshwaram and Rajahmundry (both in EG) 4  each.

According to the bulletin, thunderstorms associated with lightening are very likely to occur at isolated places in all Rayalaseema districts on September 27. The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few/isolated places from September 27 to 30. No large change during the period October 1-3 is the weather outlook.
