Competitions on tourism organised in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Students from various institutions actively participated in the essay-writing and drawing competitions on the topic ‘Krishna District Tourism’ organised by the department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of AP to mark World Tourism Day at Bapu Museum here on Thursday.

On the instructions of department of Archaeology and Museums Commissioner Dr Himanshu Shukla, the awareness programme was organised to create alertness on tourism wealth, protection and development, according to Archaeology and Museums department assistant director R Phalgun Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that there were many tourism places in the state and explained the importance of tourism and measures to be taken to protect tourism and develop it. A photo exhibition on temples and forts in AP was displayed on the occasion which attracted all the students.

Later, Rao distributed prizes to the winners and all the participants were given participation certificates. Students from Montessori Public School, Nirmala Public School, Delhi Public School, Atkinson Public School and others participated.
Museum in-charge S Satyavathi, B Deepak and others were present.
