Rayalaseema Porata Samithi alleges huge scam in TTD marketing dept

Tirupati: Rayalaseema Porata Samithi (RPS) Convener P Naveen Kumar Reddy has demanded Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to probe into the misappropriation of funds which have been occurring in the TTD’s Marketing department here for the last few years. 

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the RPS Convener asked the TTD officials concerned as to why quality of groceries and dry fruits were not inspected in the Marketing department. He accused TTD Trust Board and its officials’ failure of maintaining the standards in the purchase of groceries.

Recently, a contractor has supplied poor quality of leaf cups for distributing them prasadams in TTD temples. “My allegations are cent per cent true as the TTD Vigilance sleuths seized few materials at Tirupati marketing godown and imposed fine of Rs 3 lakh to one contractor. 

Later, the contractor and Vigilance officials came to an understanding unofficially and reduced the fine up to Rs 50,000 only”, RPS convener alleged. He demanded that the state government should appoint a senior IAS officer as an Executive Officer (EO) to look after the TTD marketing and administrative affairs in Tirumala.
