Tobacco product vendors warned by Narasaraopet DSP

Guntur: Narasaraopet DSP K Nageswara Rao warned vendors of banned guthka, khaini and pan parag to open history sheets and register cases under PD Act apart from expelling them from the district. He addressed a meeting held in Narasaraopet town with banned guthka sellers and suppliers on Thursday to create awareness on how police will react. 

Speaking on this occasion, he said that they have booked 50 cases against banned gutka sellers and seized gutka packets worth Rs 53,26,290 since 2017. He said that so far they booked 127 cases and collected gutka packets worth Rs 1,18,91,339 from  their possession. He said that following instructions of the Guntur Rural SP Ch Venkata Appala Naidu, they were conducting the awareness camps.
