38-year-old woman goes missing in Penna

Kadapa: A woman went missing while crossing river Penna at Chandhuvayee village of Vontimitta mandal on Sunday. It is reported four women were crossing the river and they swept away along with river waters. However, three of them were able to swim safely to bank. While 38-year-old woman called Lakuva Gangamma washed away in the swollen waters.
According to sources, nine people belonging to Pennaperuru village of Vontimitta mandal went to Chandhuvayee village for cattle rearing on Sunday.
In the evening, they returned to their village by crossing river Penna which narrowly passing between Penna Paruru-Chandhuvayee villages. Police rushed to the spot and started rescue operations.
