Central and state governments adopting anti farmers policies- N.Tulasi Reddy
Kadapa: While urging that both central and state governments are responsible for adopting anti farmers policies, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president N.Tulasi Reddy has said that it is high time for party cadres to have play key role in motivating the farmers by bringing them at grass route level.
Addressing party functionaries at Kamalapuram, Pulivendula constituencies booth level political training camp (BLPTC) at Vempalle on Monday, he said no day passes without reporting farmers suicide cases neither in the country nor in AP there was no option for them to select such extreme for various reasons like lack of Minimum Support Price(MSP) fails to repay the loans brought at abnormal rate of interest from private money lenders, skyrocketing of Fertilizers, and pesticides, shifting subsidy things related to cultivation to black market etc reasons.
The PCC president recalled that in the earlier during ther regime of congress central government has waived Rs 72,000 crores worth farm loans which benefited Rs 3.2crores across the country, as in AP 64lakhs farmers have enjoyed following waiver of 11,353crores. While recalling the commitment of party National President Rahul Gandhi over waiver farm loans, the PCC vice president optioned this might have mentioned as prime point in election manifesto.
The PCC president has asserted that congress party was responsible in designing AP state as ‘Rice Bowl’ by completing the huge irrigation projects like Nagarjuna Sagar, Srisailam, Prakasam Barrage, and has paid special attention over completion of 11 irrigation projects against proposed 57 under Jala Yagnam Scheme (JYS) after party has regained power in 2004, 2009 elections. DCC president SK.Nazir, party Pulivendula, Kamalapuram in charges V.Srinivasa Reddy, B.Chandra Sekhar Reddy respectively, and others were present.
