Gutkha, ganja manufacturing gang held in Kandukur

Kandukur: The Prakasam district police arrested a gang that manufactures and distributes gutkha, khaini and ganja in sachets to all places in the state. 

They seized the raw material and machines that are used in the manufacturing of the tobacco products.

According to the Kandukur DSP K Prakasa Rao, two individuals Sk Naz and Sk Rasool Basha from Chowda Gogula Palle in Peda Cherlopalli mandal set up a gutkha and khaini manufacturing unit in Padamati Vaddepalem in Kandukur. 

They were purchasing the raw material at Bangalore and packing the sachets in the unit with different brand names including China Khaini, Blue Bull, Hans, Khaleja, Raja Khaini, Miraj Tobacco, VJ Tobacco, Vimal Pan Masala.

On a tip off, the police arrested the duo and with the information received from them, arrested Endluri Ganesh of Talluru village in Kanigiri mandal and Kotha Venkateswarlu of Ponnaluru village and mandal on the Saturday evening. 

The police also seized the empty sachets of the gutkha and khaini, 40 packets of Paries cigarettes and half kilogram ganza along with the machinery they used to manufacture the packets. 

The DSP said that the material and machinery costs around Rs 4 lakh and the accused will be submitted before the court.
