Hanging libraries help tribal students in Rampachodavaram

Rampachodavaram: Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) project officer Nishant Kumar has said that the government introduced reforms in primary education for analytical teaching and the government is giving priority to strengthen primary education.

He inspected tribal residential school in Gangavaram and asked the students to what extent the hanging library is useful to them. 

He informed that hanging libraries were getting good response from the students. 

Hanging libraries were being arranged where there was no room in the schools. In some schools, hanging libraries were arranged in dormitories.

He said that the reading skills of students were increasing because of hanging libraries. Plans are afoot to arrange the libraries in all schools in the agency area,

he told. It was the duty of teaching fraternity to enhance their teaching skills, which were the need of the hour.

He advised the teachers to teach lessons to the students after assessing their mental capacity. 

Hanging library was introduced by Pradham Books Organisation (PBO) to inculcate the habit of reading among students. 

As part of Read India programme, PBO is publishing various books in Hindi, English and Telugu languages for the children. 

The hanging libraries were benefitting a lot to the students in 300 tribal welfare schools in the agency area and also getting good results, he informed. 

About 100 varieties of books are available in the hanging libraries, he added.
