NRI couple’s kind act
Warangal: In a gesture, an NRI couple Sindhura - Susheel Tanjavoor have donated school uniforms worth around Rs 40,000 to 76 children residing at Vyasa Avasam, on the occasion of their children Athera and Avyukth's birthday, here on Sunday. The programme was organised by Sulakshya Seva Samithi.
Addressing the gathering, Assistant Collector of Warangal Rural Manu Choudary said: "Sulakshya Seva Samithi is doing its bit for the society. Their intention of giving something back to the society is noble."
Noted academician Gujjula Narsaiah has said: "I have been following the activities of Sulakshya since a long time and they are doing a commendable job for the societal wellbeing.”
NSS Coordinator of Kakatiya University Dr S Jyothi said that students should make right use of the opportunities by such NGOs and excel in their lives. Dr G Renuka of Pingle College said that character is even more important than education. Founder President of Sulakshya Seva Samithi Santhosh Manduva said that it gives immense satisfaction when donors believe in us and appreciate our efforts.
The email sent by the NRI couple said: "We strongly believe in the saying ‘Service to mankind is service of God’. Rather than spending money on partying, we wanted to spend the same money towards a noble cause. We also should inculcate the habit of giving back to these kids so that they will help someone else in future."
Kaushik Bhupathi, Prithvi Sangani, Jayanth Devulapalli, Kodam Vinay, Vandemataram Vischnuchaitanya, Sujith Tanjavoor, Ramakrishna, Aluvala Bhikshapathi and Vasundhara Kasarla were among others present.
