14,398 eligible youth to get unemployment dole in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: The long-awaited unemployment allowance scheme, ‘Chief Minister Yuva Nestham’ (CMYN) started in the district on Tuesday. The district administration has identified over 14,398 to pay the unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000 to each eligible unemployed youth. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao presented letters to youth in this regard at an event organised at Madhurawada in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the government would provide skill development training to all eligible 14,398 beneficiaries in various programmes in the district. After the successful training, the beneficiaries would be provided employment in their respective categories, he added.
As many as 3.21 lakh unemployed youth applied for the allowance under CMYN and the administration selected 14,398 youth for the scheme. The eligible youth, who missed an opportunity to apply, can also update their details and the government would pay the allowance, the minister added.
The state stood in first place in Ease of Doing Business and during the investors’ meet conducted in Visakhapatnam and MoUs were signed with various national and international companies to the tune of Rs 15.67 lakh crore investments, he said. Some companies have already grounded their units and other MoUs are under various stages of progress, he added. Once the companies grounded, over 32.76 lakh jobs would be created, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said.
Presiding over the meeting, Collector Pravin Kumar said that the Andhra Pradesh government was utilising technology in every scheme and registering good results. He said the youth can download the CMYN App to apply through a mobile phone. The officials deposited Rs 1 on Tuesday in the account of eligible youth and after the confirmation from the account holders, the remaining Rs 999 would be credited on Wednesday, the collector said.
The Minister interacted with the beneficiaries of the scheme and the youth thanked the government for sanctioning the unemployed allowance.
Joint Collector G Srujana and Trainee Collector Dinesh Kumar were also present.
