Kurnool: The YSRCP student wing of Kurnool district launched a 48-hour relay hunger strike at Sri Krishnadevaraya Circle here on Tuesday, for reducing monthly unemployment allowance to Rs 1,000 when the TDP had promised to give Rs 2,000 in its election manifesto in 2014.

YSRCP MLA Gowru Charitha Reddy, YSRCP General Secretary Katasani Rambhupal Reddy and other party leaders have extended support to the strike. Addressing the student wing activists, Gowru Charitha Reddy said the TD government is providing unemployment stipend to 1.85 lakh youth only out of 30 lakh in the state.
