Mahatma, Shastri remembered at GMC office in Guntur

Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar, Guntur Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao and Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and paid tributes to him on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary at GMC office in Guntur on Tuesday.

Similarly, they garlanded the portrait of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Sastry.

Speaking on this occasion, Konda Sasidhar said that following footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi was real tribute to him. 

He reminded that non-violence was his tool to achieve independence. 

Because of his non-violence, entire world had looked at him. 

He urged the youth to draw inspiration from him. 

He said Lal Bahadur Sastry also worked hard for the development of the country.
