Vizag to host ODI on October 24
Visakhapatnam: Dr YS Rajasekar Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in the city is going to host another international one-day cricket match on October 24 as the Holkar Stadium at Indore, which was scheduled to host the match lost out due to a dispute between the Indian board and the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association over the distribution of complimentary passes.
Speaking to The Hans India on Thursday, ACA-VDCA ground staff member on condition of anonymity said that in recent times the ground hosted international ODI played between India and Sri Lanka on December 17 of last year in that match India achieved 215 runs total in just 32 overs while Indian opener Shikar Dhawan had scored a century as the team led by Rohit Sharma.
Andhra Cricket Association showed their interest to the board request and we are working at the final modalities, he said and added there are a lot of things to be done as the game is shifted at the last minute. Logistics, travelling, security and many other works would have to be done as earlier, he added.
