1 percent people enjoying 73 percent of national income, says Prof Haragopal
Guntur: Noted human rights leader Prof G Haragopal has said that due to the economic and social inequalities, democracy is at stake.
He said one per cent of the people in the country are enjoying 73 per cent of the national income.
He was speaking at a meeting organised by Forum For Better Bapatla.
He said that Law, Order and everything will be in favour of rich and the poor were being exploited.
He felt that life was obsessed with trivial problems. He said, “We would become problematic to ourselves, if we don't have any purpose of life.
Wealth is not the only criterion, we should get satisfaction by serving the needy,” he added.
Later, Prof Haragopal was felicitated by the Forum. The Forum Secretary, P C Sai Babu, Tahsildar T Vallaiah, Academic Advisor of Bapatla Education Society Dr K Vijayakumar, former principal of Arts College WAGK Murthy, advocates Zamrud Basha, Chalapathi Rao, retired lecturer K Srinivasa Raju and others participated.
