Govt hospital suffers from labour pains in Bhimavaram

Bhimavaram: Not only pregnant women but also Bhimavaram government hospital suffering labour pains as there is only one gynecologist attending the in-patients and out-patients who account for 200 to 400 every day.

This is the sad state of affairs at the government hospital which was recently upgraded to 50-bed hospital.

Contrary to the claims of the government, the facilities at the government hospital are inadequate.

Pregnant woman who comes here with labour pains should stand in queue here for at least four hours.

The people’s representatives who boast themselves of doing so many things for the welfare of the people need to inspect the hospital to counter check their statements on public health.

Any private hospital in the town charge at least Rs 80,000 for the delivery of a pregnant woman who approaches these hospitals under unavoidable circumstances (for want of doctors and infrastructure in government hospital).

Neither chairman of the hospital nor the MLA who stays in the town had failed to correct the system by getting one more gynecologist.

It is very sad to see pregnant women, lactating mothers and delivery patients suffer a lot in this hospital.

When the hospital is ailing, where is the question of treating patients here, a patient lamented.
