Navy Day celebrations kick-start in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: The Eastern Naval Command has scheduled a series of events to celebrate the Navy Day on December 4. The celebrations kick started on Friday with a mega blood donation camp by the Eastern Fleet at Naval Dockyard. The camp was inaugurated by Captain Vikram Mehra, Commanding Officer, INS Ranjit. As many as 268 personnel donated blood in the camp, which was later handed over to NTR Trust Blood Bank.
Other programmes include- Organ Donation Seminar, Special Children visit to INS Dega and Eastern Fleet ships, public performances by Naval Band, two more blood donation camps and an outreach programme along with a medical camp in November. One of the popular events, the fourth edition of Vizag-Navy Marathon is scheduled on November 18. The Naval ships will be open to school children on November 24-25.
On December 4, the ENC will conduct a Naval Operational Display at RK Beach highlighting the multi-dimensional warfare capability of the Indian Navy for protecting the vast maritime borders and interests of the country. Rehearsal for the Operational Demo would be held on November 28 and 30 and final dress rehearsal is scheduled on December 3.
