Prajavani petitioners to get meals at cheaper price

Vizianagaram: On the lines of food canteen established at Parvathipuram in the premises of ITDA to provide food at cheaper price to petitioners, who come on every Monday to submit their grievances, the Collector is planning to implement the scheme at the Collectorate.

The petitioners, who come to submit their grievances to collectorate, may travel more than 100 kilometres and spend around Rs 400-500. They have to spend Rs 60-70 per plate meal. The ITDA has started providing food at cheaper price than hotel rate. In Parvathipuram, they are providing each plate of meal at Rs 23. Now the collector Hari Jawaharlal is planning to introduce the system and provide food at Rs 10 per plate.

More than 200 petitioners will arrive Prajavani on every morning. The Collector said they would distribute tokens to each petitioner so that they can have food in canteen. 

He said the officers and staff can donate on their birthdays and some other important days for the scheme. Jawaharlal said the Rs 10 meal scheme will be implemented within a few days.
