Prisoner released on remission

Visakhapatnam: To mark the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, the state government on Friday gave remission to five convicted prisoners.

Among the five convicted persons, one Bodasing Srinivasa Rao was released from Visakhapatnam central prison on Friday. The government considered to release five prisoners and four were released from the Central Prison, Rajamahendravaram.

Srinivasa Rao, convicted under sections of IPC 498 A, 324 for one-year imprisonment and admitted at Central Prison, Visakhapatnam on December 22, 2017. During his jail term, the prison authorities satisfied on his attitude and behaviour in the jail and recommended an early release under special remission.
