Session on mental health organised in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: As part of mental health week celebrations, Maris Stella College has organised an orientation session for all the Intermediate students on mental health at the college auditorium here on Thursday.
The Chief Guest of the session was Dr TS Rao, Psychiatrist. He said that Mental Health was a level of psychological wellbeing or an absence of mental illness.
Present day youth were not very much serious about their future and career. For petty reasons, they were resorting to suicide.
The reason behind this type of mentality was lack of parental care, no sharing of ideas and no social relations.
Due to stress, fear of examinations and result, they were losing their confidence levels, discontinuing their studies and becoming sick.
He advised them to aim high, concentrate on studies, make use of the available employability skills and opportunities.
He suggested the parents to monitor the teenagers and their behavior for their bright future.
Dr Asha Kumari, vice-principal, Intermediate section explained the importance of arranging the session for the teenagers.
Lalitha, counselors, faculty members and all the Intermediate students participated in the programme.
