Allegations mar TTD image
Tirupati: It is interesting to note that the alleged irregularities in the issuance of the VIP break darshan tickets which the devotees crave to get them to have good darshan of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala temple has turned a fight between the leaders of ruling TDP and Opposition.
It all began with BJP state secretary and former TTD Trust Board member G Bhanu Prakash Reddy dragging Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) into the issue. He alleged that considerable number of VIP break darshan tickets was issued at the behest of CMO’s office giving scope for the black marketing of the tickets by unscrupulous elements and even lodged a complaint with Tirupati Urban SP seeking a probe in the issue.
Involving CMO’s office naturally irked TDP district general secretary and TUDA Chairman G Narasimha Yadav countering Bhanu Prakash allegations. Yadav said BJP leader’s allegations are politically motivated to tarnish the image of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
He dared saffron leader to prove the irregularity or else he will face serious consequences, turning the darshan ticket issues a tussle between the ruling and opposition party leaders.
Congress leader P Naveen Kumar Reddy also joined in the issue alleging misuse of VIP break darshan tickets and stressed on transparency in the issuing of tickets. He wanted the break darshan tickets other than protocol, be brought under online system to avoid its misuse which he said has increased in the recent times.
CITU general secretary K Murali went one step ahead and sought a through probe in all irregularities including in issuing of Arjitha Seva and VIP break darshan tickets, atrocities of contractors and also splurging of the funds to save the image of TTD.
He sought the Chief Minister to respond as the criticism with regard to the tickets issuing was against CMO and ruling party leaders. In essence, the alleged irregularities in the issuing of tickets ultimately turned a tussle between the ruling party and the Opposition in the process marring the image of TTD.
