Contribute to nation’s development, engineering students told
Rajamahendravaram: Metro Rail Managing Director NVS Reddy has appealed to engineering students to think innovatively to become part and parcel of country's development.
The engineering students should play a pivotal role in the society, he said. Participating in a tech fest ‘Advika 2k18’, conducted by Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) at its campus here on Friday, he advised the students to enhance their knowledge in other subjects along with engineering subjects. He said students in the USA follow the procedure.
“This helps engineering students to know about the things happening in the society around them. In Korea, the engineers are inventing new things and became a role model to other countries,” he said.
He underlined the need to enhance their knowledge to compete with others in the competitive world. Bright future is awaiting engineering students and asked them to put their endeavour to reach their goals.
AKNU Vice-Chancellor Professor Murru Mutyala Naidu asked the engineering students to prove their mettle with innovative programmes and it is the duty of the students to bring name and fame to the university with their activities.
The Vice-Chancellor said NVS Reddy had completed the Metro Rail Project in Hyderabad by addressing many problems and he is an inspiration to all. Later, he felicitated Reddy with a memento and a shawl.
Later speaking to reporters, NVS Reddy said Hyderabad Metro Rail project is the biggest project with public private partnership in the world. Metro is a boon to the people of Hyderabad and it is useful to women and also the physically challenged.
Out of 250 metro projects in the world, Hyderabad Metro is the biggest, he added. The State government is also ready to take up metro rail projects in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam cities also, he pointed out. The students should acquire knowledge about these projects, he said.
