Students boycott classes over absence of teacher in Tadikalapudi

Dwaraka Tirumala: The students of ZP High School in Tadikalapudi of Kamavarapukota mandal in West Godavari district boycotted classes on Friday, demanding that the authorities appoint social teacher. 

Their parents also joined them to stage a protest over absence of the teacher in the presence of Mandal Education Officer and ZPTC leaders.

As per records, two social teachers have been allotted to the school. 

However, none of them attend classes. While one teacher is on leave citing his son suffering from cancer and he needs the teacher’s attention. 

Another teacher has been working at her native place. The teacher, however, taking salary from the school at Tadikalapudi.

During enquiry by ZPTC Sudheer Babu and MEO Subba Rao, it was observed that the teacher had reportedly convinced higher ups and secured transfer to the school near to her residence.

For the agitation organised by the students and teacher, the elders of Tadikalapudi extended their support. 

The agitators raised slogans demanding officials to ensure at least one teacher for social subject work in the school.
