Burglars decamp with ornaments worth RS. 80 lakh

Tirupati: Burglars broke opened a jewellery shop in the early hours of Saturday and decamped with gold ornaments weighing 2.5 kg which were worth Rs 80 lakh. According to DSP (Crime) Ravisankar Reddy, Hemanth, owner of Lavanya Jewellers, has opened the shop on Saturday and found that all the gold ornaments were missing. He immediately lodged a complaint with the CCS police. The police swung into action and searched for the evidence. To their astonishment, burglars stole the CCTV footage to erase the evidence.
