Two day Faculty Development Programme begins in Tirupati

Tirupati: As part of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP), two-day ‘face-to-face sessions’ began at Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) in Tirupati on Saturday. 

The remote centre of IIT Bombay was established at the School of Engineering & Technology (SoET) in SPMVV. Through this, SoET has been offering various faculty development programmes and skill improvement programmes for students. 

The present FDP was approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and being conducted under the aegis of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching. 

The programme was being conducted in a blended MOOC approach and it is separated into two-part courses. 

The focus of this was to expose the teachers to technology and to enhance the pedagogy through which they can adopt new teaching and learning methodologies by using technology. 

For this, 39 faculty members from various  colleges in Chittoor district have enrolled, said the coordinator of IIT Bombay Remote Centre 
K Venkata Gurunatha Naidu.
