Polavaram: Taking a broadside against ruling TDP, cine hero and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, said that Janmabhoomi committees have spoiled the Panchayat Raj system.

He was speaking at a function organised here on Sunday to mark joining of former MLAs from East Godavari district Rapaka Varaprasad and Pamula Rajeswari in the JSP.

The JSP president thundered that the present politicians had crushed Panchayat Raj system for their selfish interests.

They formed Janmabhoomi committees to smash the vision of Mahatma Gandhi.

They were not conducting elections to local bodies on time.

By doing this, they murdered panchayat system and thereby preventing backward classes from achieving political power.

The JSP wanted to change the system. De-centralisation is the panacea to all the ills, he explained.

Sharing his experiences with people at the time of floating his party, Pawan Kalyan said that there were many unfavorable conditions.

“I started the party when everybody was afraid of talking about it.

Why should people suffer for the sins of politicos? A confidence within to fight the evil forced me to launch the party,” he said.

He expressed concern over the deep rooted trend of asking enthusiasts on how much money they can offer to leadership and spend during elections.

The politics had become business worth thousands of crores of rupees.
Unlike others, he said, JSP would only embrace leaders going by their capability of motivating people.
