ACB raids on Deputy EO Rajamahendravaram residences

Kakinada: The day-long ACB raids at the house of the in-charge Deputy EO Rajamahendravaram, M Prabhakara Rao on Tuesday unearthed disproportionate properties to the known sources of income.

According to ACB sources, they found out gold ornaments worth Rs 11 .46 lakhs, silver articles worth Rs 1.15 lakhs, household articles worth Rs 3.13 lakhs, cash Rs 6.25 lakhs and a bank balance of Rs 1.96 lakhs and promissory notes worth Rs 6 lakhs in the house of Prabhakara Rao.

Besides these assets, the ACB sleuths also found out land documents of vacant sites, flats and allied properties in Kakinada, Rajamahendravaram and Tanuku in West Godavari and in Bengaluru. In total, the in-charge Deputy EO had 10 house sites, two flats and one house in these places.

According to ACB DSP Sudhakar, the accused Prabhakara Rao was under remand after conducting raids at his office premises. The in-charge Deputy EO was caught by ACB sleuths while he was accepting Rs 10,000 from a school teacher for doing a favour on September 20 and since then he was in remand.
