Meet on financing JLGs held in Kakinada
Kakinada: A workshop on JLGs (joint liability groups) was organised for District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) officials and PACs staff by Nabard at conference hall of Kakinada DCCB on Tuesday.
Dr K V S Prasad, AGM, Nabard briefed the participants on the importance of financing to tenant farmers (JLGs) in the district.
It was indicated that the tenant farmers can be formed into joint liability groups so that loans can be provided for these groups.
M Dharma Rao, CEO, DCCB advised the branches and PACS (primary agriculture cooperative societies) to encourage financing for tenant farmers who were real cultivators based on their requirement so that they can get crop loans at zero percent interest.
Srinivas from APCOB requested PAC societies to take up different viable activities so as to serve their members effectively.
Praveen Kumar, APCOB DGM, Krishna Murthy Raju, DGM, DCCB also addressed the participants.
Branch officials from 15 branches of DCCB and PACS officials from 30 societies and nodal officers from Kakinada DCCB participated in the workshop.
