Pattu Vastralu presented to Goddess Durga

Vijayawada: Commissioner of Police Dwaraka Tirumala Rao on Tuesday presented Pattu Vastralu, Kumkuma and Pasupu to Goddess Kanaka Durga at the Durga temple on Indrakeeladri, marking the beginning of Dasara festival celebrations on Wednesday.  

Following the tradition of his predecessors, the Commissioner took part in the procession and reached the temple to offer the silk robes. The previous Police Commissioners also followed the same rituals. 

Earlier, the CP along with DCP (Law and Order) Gajarao Bhupal and DCP (Admin) Brahma Reddy performed special prayers to Ravi Chettu. The event was organised in the auspices of one town police station.
