Cyclone Titli keeps AP on alert

Visakhapatnam: Cyclone Titli that lay over Bay of Bengal has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm on Wednesday and is moving towards the Odisha- Andhra Pradesh coast triggering rainfall and heavy gales in five districts of Odisha and several parts in north Andhra Pradesh.
According to IMD, the storm is likely to make a landfall between Gopalpur in Odisha and Kalingapatnam of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Thursday with a speed of 140-150 kmph. Titli with a speed of about 120 kmph intensified into a severe cyclonic storm and it lay centered over west central Bay of Bengal at about 250 km south southeast of Gopalpur in Odisha and 270 km away from Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
