Crude oil thieves held
Amalapuram: The rural police have unravelled ONGC's crude oil theft case and arrested for accused on Thursday. Disclosing the details in a press conference here, Deputy Superintendent of Police V Prasanna Kumar said that the accused has been stealing crude oil from the unloading point at S Yanam from various Ways. They are shifting the stolen crude oil through oil tankers.
A police team led by Rural Inspector Deva Kumar arrested the accused - Garapati Rama Krishna of West Godavari district, Tallapragada Padmavathi and Pattamata Raja Seshu of Rajamahendravaram and Moru Venkateswara Rao of Gangalakurru.
They are searching for Keta Bhanuteja of Gunnepalli Agraharam, Bobby of Morampudi of Rajamahendravaram, Maraiah of Eetakota vilage and Raja Reddy of Bhimavaram, who have been purchasing the stolen crude oil.
The crude oil theft has become a regular phenomenon in Konaseema area from 2014 and the cost of the stolen crude oil will be collected from ONGC officials, Rural Inspector Deva Kumar said. Meanwhile, intelligence bureau also took up investigation about oil thefts.
