25K electric poles damaged in Srikakulam

Srikakulam/Visakhapatnam: Principal Secretary, Energy, Ajay Jain on Friday said that the damage caused due to Titli cyclone is being attended on war footing and trying to restore power within a short time.

As per directions of the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Principal Secretary Ajay Jain, State Advisor K Ranaganath, AP Transco CMD  K Vijayanand are being extensively visiting the damaged places and reviewing with authorities and co-coordinating in the relief works.  

Ajay Jain said that 25,000 electricity poles were damaged, and the relief works should be completed as earliest as the staff and engineers were experienced in Hudhud cyclone in Visakhapatnam in 2014. The officers from SPDCL also deployed to Srikakulam district and working here along with APEPDCL staff for restoration of power.

Chairman and Managing Director of APEPDCL H Y Dora said that 10 EHT Sub-stations, 101 numbers of 33/11 kv sub-stations, a 50 number of 33kv feeders, 127 numbers of 33kv poles, 1,358-km long 33kv lines, 380 numbers of 11kv Feeders,  2,842 numbers of 11kv poles, 7,329 km long 11kv lines, 5,316 km long LT Lines, LT poles-4470, 202 distribution transformers, a total of 7,76,706 service connections and 23,970 agricultural connections were damaged.
