Demand for steel increasing: CMD Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited
Visakhapatnam: Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the flagship company of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant P K Rath said that steel market was showing signs of improvement with increasing demand. Addressing the customers meet of Andhra Region here at Ukkunagaram on Friday, he said the customers would play keyrole in strengthening the market.
He said the RINL has introduced Special/Value Added steel products in Andhra region. The CMD said RINL is all set to achieve a target of 6 million tonnes of liquid steel during the current fiscal.
He added the RINL has made an impressive growth of 49 per cent in sales turn over by crossing Rs 10,000 crore mark during the first half of the current year, the highest since its inception. In fact, RINL is framing its marketing policies based on the requirements of its customers, and always treated customers as its partners in the growth of the plant, Rath said.
RINL Director (Commercial) P Raychaudhury said that Andhra region was growing with good consumption of wire rods and rebars, and appealed to customers to come forward to develop its market for the special steels produced by RINL in the region.
A modern stockyard was operational in the plant and a new retail stockyard was coming up in Pedagantyada for the smooth delivery of VSP products, he said.
