Jealousy drives man to kill fellow realtor

Nellore: Nawabpeta police cracked mystery behind the sensational murder of a builder and arrested 8 persons. Cops recovered Rs 4.2 lakh cash, 6 mobile phones, 4 motorcycles, 3 iron rods and 5 beer bottles used in killing of the builder.

Briefing the media, City DSP NBM Murali Krishna said on Friday that N Sirish (37), a resident of Indralok Avenue near Inamadugu Centre, was murdered on October 5. Six people, who were wearing masks, attacked him with lethal weapons and beer bottles at flyover close to Atmakur Bus Stand at around 7.45 pm and fled away on motorcycles.

The DSP stated Sirish was doing realty business since 2015 along with Sadepalli Sobhan Kumar, who is working as a lecturer in a reputed engineering college. After differences cropped between them, Sirish started his own business in 2017, the DSP said and added that both have earned Rs 30 lakh in real estate business. But, they were doing their own businesses in the same area and also in the city.

Business jealousy drove Sobhan to hatch a plan to kill Sirish. He discussed murder plan with his follower and contractor Bhupathi and engaged his close friends, who were labourers, to eliminate Sirish.

They conducted a reece on the movements of Sirish for more than two days. They tried to kill Sirish on October 4 and succeeded on October 5. Sobhan had offered the accused Rs 8 lakh as supari and handed over the cash through Bhupathi after completing the task. Nawabpeta police filed a case and started investigation. 

They arrested six accused at Rajiv Gruha Kalpa in the city on Thursday along with Sobhan and Bhupathi. Nawabpeta Circle Inspector N Venkat Rao was also present. DSP appreciated efforts of the police personnel, who participated in the investigation and also quick arrest of the accused.
