Man hacked to death in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: A gang of seven miscreants killed a man with knives and sickles at Vempada village near Nakkapalli toll plaza in Visakhapatnam district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as V Neelamega Amaran (33), native of Pudur village of Madhurai, Tamil Nadu.
According to Yelamanchili Circle Inspector Viswanath, Amaran was having breakfast at a roadside hotel near toll plaza at around 8 am on Saturday and seven unidentified persons, reportedly Tamilians, came in a white Innova (TN57W 5383) and attacked Amaran with knives and sickles, killing him on the spot. Then they fled from the spot.
People present there informed the police about the murder and the offenders were headed towards Yelamanchili and the same information was passed on to patrol police at Yelamanchili, who tried to nab the offenders.
The offenders diverted their vehicle towards Marribanda village as the Polavaram canal works were going on the road and had to stop the vehicle after reaching Peddapalli village as there is no road connectivity.
When the offenders tried to run away, local villagers helped the police in nabbing six miscreants and one managed to escape.
Police lodged a hunt to nab him. Police registered a murder case and moved the body to NTR Hospital at Anakapalli for postmortem. Investigation is on.
