Akiveedu: Wine shops in villages of Kalla mandal have become bars as the drunkards booze at the shops itself. Women who move on roads close to wine shops have been facing trouble from the alcoholics.
Bondada village in Kalla mandal is best example for the drunkards creating problems for the people moving on roads close to the wine shops.
The drunkards have been creating law and order problem for the passers-by, especially for women.
As the wine shop location is at the entrance of the village, girls and women are easily becoming targets for the alcohol addicts who misbehave with them.
The drunkards boozing at wine shops become a common sight in the mandal. The officials of excise have been maintaining silence over the problem.
Meanwhile, alcoholics complain that wine shops in the mandal have been collecting an extra sum irrespective of MRP printed on the wine bottle.
The boozers have been forced to cough up extra price of up to Rs 100 per each bottle of wine sold at the wine shops.
Many families have been affected by the extra charge imposed on boozers.
The poor and downtrodden families who depend on earnings of the alcoholics charged the wine shop managements with destroying their families by charging more on wine.
Though the MRP violation is common, the excise officials failed to act against the wine shop owners, they allege.
