Police donate blood to mark Commemoration Week in Ongole
Ongole: The voluntary donation of blood helps victims of road accidents, people undergoing surgeries and people suffering with blood related diseases and requiring transfusion frequently, announced Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu, the Superintendent of Police for Prakasam district.
On Tuesday, the SP inaugurated the blood donation camp at the Police Kalyanamandapam in Ongole and donated blood along with the interested policemen and common public.
The SP said that the police department was conducting various programmes as part of the police commemoration week and remembering the sacrifices of the police martyrs.
He said that there were six martyrs from the Prakasam district. He announced that similar blood donation camps were being conducted in various places in the district and the police personnel were participating in them.
He encouraged the public to participate in the blood donation camp, as donating blood saves the people in emergencies while the body of the donor regains it in a day. He announced that the blood donation camp would continue on Wednesday.
In similar blood donation camps held at the Police Training College, the college staff donated blood while the blood donation camp at Chirala was inaugurated by One-Town CI U Suryanarayana, before he donated blood.
