Akiveedu: The ‘Padayatra’ of tenant farmers led by AP Kowlu Rytula Sangham will enter Akiveedu mandal on Thursday. The farmers released a poster of ‘Padayatra’ here on Wednesday.

The sangham leaders called upon the farmers to participate in the ‘Padayatra’ in large numbers to make it a success.

The ‘Padayatra’ covers Ajjamuru, Akiveedu, Ai Bhimavaram and Cherukumilli in the mandal. It will enter Juvvalapalem of Kalla mandal by the evening on October 19.

The tenant farmers have been demanding that the government establish a separate ministry for tenant farmers.

Among other things, the farmers association has been asking for implementation of Act intended for tenant farmers, extend interest-free loan up to Rs 1 lakh without any surety, implementation of loan waiver, denial of permission to convert the fertile farm lands into aqua ponds.

The ‘Padayatra’ is supported by Vyavasaya Koolie Sangham and CITU.
