Avail online services in distance education: AU VC to students
Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Vice Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao on Friday said the distance education department in the varsity would be transforming into digital mode as part of its vision to provide an online platform for its students.
Launching online services for students of distance education at AU Academic Senate Hall, the VC said the varsity had entered a strategic partnership with TCS iON to bring in best services for the students by covering the areas of admission and conducting the examinations.
“This will be a platform for services like online admission process for students to enroll for various courses. This will also help the students to enroll through online for their exam registration process,” said VC G Nageswar Rao.
He said the platform would be strengthened for providing various services like single portal for all transactions including history of past transactions, online payments facility to ease fee payments, communication by SMS and email on the progress of student applications, quick turnaround time on applications due to workflow driven approvals, improve operational efficiency, visibility and transparency.
This would also facilitate error-free exam results processing and quick declaration of results with rich analytic and dashboards to the university management, he added. He requested the students to utilise the online services.
