Shilparamam to come up in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: East Godavari Collector Karthikeya Mishra said that steps will be taken to establish Shilparamam in the Grand City of Culture Rajamahendravaram. Inaugurating Shilparamam Craft Bazaar' 2018 at TTD Kalyana Mandapam here on Saturday night, he said there is a request from Shilparama Arts, Crafts and Cultural Society (SACCS)for allotment of land in this regard. At present, Shilparamam at NTR beach in Kakinada will be ready shortly and after that the fresh request of the SACCS would also be taken into consideration.

In the present expo, artisans from 11 States are participating and about 100 stalls were arranged in the expo, he added. Various forms of crafts with quality are a feast to the eyes of the visiting public. The craft expo helps a lot to the artisans to sell their products under one roof and advised the people to encourage the artisans by purchasing them. SACCS chief executive officer B Jayaraj said the expo, first of its kind being conducted by the organisation in the city, will continue for 10 days. The expo is aimed at encouraging the artisans.

In association with Union Ministry of Textiles, SACCS is conducting the expo and all the stalls were allotted free of cost to the artisans.  Various range of wood carvings, Kondapalli toys, sarees, dress materials, ornamental jewellery and many other varieties are available at affordable prices. He appealed to the people to visit the expo.
