Teen slips into SRBC, drowns

Kurnool: Asma Bhanu (15) has slipped into the Srisailam Right Branch Canal (SRBC) near Pamulapadu mandal on Saturday afternoon and swept away. According to Atmakur Inspector B Krishnaiah, Asma Banu had gone to work in farm fields along with other labourers near Pamulapadu. When all of them sat down for lunch, she went to the SRBC to fetch drinking water. 

She accidently fell into the canal and washed away. On hearing her screams, the co-workers came running towards canal. By the time, she swept away in canal by the strong water current. The co-workers and locals plunged into the canal and retrieved her body. The deceased was a resident of Rudravaram village in Pamulapadu mandal. The body was sent to government hospital at Atmakur for post-mortem. A case was registered.
