Encroachments removed in Rayachoti town
Kadapa: Tension prevailed at SN colony in Rayachoti town on Monday as the municipal authorities removed as many as 50 business establishments which were allegedly constructed in the government land.
According to the officials sources few years ago some people have encroached Rs 70 crores worth 80 cents of government land in SN colony and constructed structures as they given them for different trades under rental purpose.
Meanwhile following complaint lodged by a local with human rights commission recently directed the collector to intervene in to the matter. In this connection collector CH.Harikiran asked Rayachoti Municipal commissioner to submit detail report over the issue, as the municipal authorities cleared that there was already high court verdict delivered in 2003 against the traders and directed them to vacate the government land. But the court orders were not implemented due to various reasons.
However on Monday morning following orders of collector CH.Harikiran, Rayachoti Municipal officials accompanied by local police handover the government land by demolishing the structures. When contacted by Hans India Rayachoti Municipal commissioner S.Srinivasulu Reddy said that the municipal administration has issued the notices to the traders for vacating the government land but they failed to obey the orders. So as per the directions of the collector the consent land handover to the government.
