Police commemoration day observed in Ongole
Ongole: State environment, forests, and technology minister Sidda Raghav Rao said that sacrifices of soldiers who have laid their lives protecting our nations remain in our memories forever.
He was speaking on the eve of Police commemoration day here at parade grounds on Sunday.
The minister, Ongole MLA D Janardhana Rao, district police officer B Sathya Yesubabu, former MLA BN Vijay Kumar, additional SPs Lavanya Lakshmi, Shiva Reddy, DSPs laid flower bouquets at martyrs sthoopam and paid tributes to police martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister extolled the sacrifices of the martyrs and said that people are leading peaceful lives just because of their sacrifices.
On this context, he paid tributes to the six district police who have laid their lives this year while performing their duties. District police superintendent Sathya Yesu said that police have been playing key role in preserving democracy.
He said that people need to remember the martyrs who have laid their lives. He extended his full support to the families of police martyrs.
Later additional SP Lavanya read out all the names of 414 soldiers who have laid their lives this year while protecting our nation. A two minute silence was maintained on the occasion as a respect to martyrs.
RI Ankamma Rao was the parade commander of this program. Prizes were distributed to the students and police by the minister and SP.
Among those participated in the program also include transport officer Subba Rao, DSPs Srinivas Rao, Mariya Das, Venkateshwar Rao, Nageshwar Rao, Lakshminarayana, Y Srinivasulu, Venugopal, CIs, Sis, police staff, and families of martyr families.
