11 killed in AP road mishaps

Vijayawada: Eleven people, including two children, died and 10 others were injured in two separate accidents in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. At Gollaprolu in East Godavari district, seven women, one boy were killed and eight others were injured when a truck hit the mini-van in which they were travelling.  According to the police, the victims from Makavarampalem in Visakhapatnam district were returning home after attending a house warming ceremony in Kakinada.

people died on the spot and two others succumbed to injuries in hospital. The injured persons were admitted to hospitals at Pithapuram and Kakinada. The lorry driver fled the scene soon after the accident.

In a similar tragedy in the Agency area of Visakhapatnam district, three members of a family were killed when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling overturned near a culvert. 

Two women died on the spot, while a six-year-old girl died on way to the hospital. Two others, who sustained injuries, were shifted to King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam.
