APSRTC earns 209 crore revenue in Dasara season

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) earned additional income of Rs 11 crore this Dasara season by operating 5778 additional bus services from October 9 to 22 transporting 5.30 lakh passengers between various destinations. 

The APSRTC, Managing Director and Vice-Chairman, N V Surendra Babu in a press release on Tuesday said, that the RTC earned revenue of Rs 209 crore this festival season comparing to Rs 194 crore earned in 2017 Dasara season. 

He said the RTC earned the record income of Rs 21 crore in a single day on October 22 with occupancy ratio of 103 as there was huge rush of passengers.

Surendra Babu said 72,335 bus passengers utilised the online services and congratulated the RTC Chairman Varla Ramaiah, executive directors, officials and all staff for the wonderful performance this Dasara season and earning profits.

The RTC operated services to the important cities of Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag, Tirupati, Bengaluru and Chennai this Dasara season, he added.
