Vijayawada: Jana Chaitanya Vedika (JCV) demanded that the state government implement High Court of Andhra Pradesh orders and conduct Panchayat elections for 12,850 Panchayats in the state within three months.

The JCV president, V Laxman Reddy on Tuesday welcomed the court decision to conduct Panchayat elections which was delayed for quite some time.

He alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was trying to postpone the said elections since August 1 by appointing special officers which was against the Constitution of India.

With the court order, the CM had to conduct the elections at all the 12,850 Panchayats in the given stipulated time, he said and added that the GO 90 issued by the state government was struck off by the court.

He demanded that the government implement the court order and conduct the Panchayat elections as directed by the court.
