Vijayawada: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas on Monday hit back at the BJP leaders for levelling allegations against the State government in AgriGold case.

He reacted to the relay fast organised by the BJP leaders at the Dharna Chowk here on Monday in support of AgriGold victims and criticiing the TDP government that it had failed to resolve AgriGold case during the last four years.

Addressing the media, Kesineni ridiculed the statement of BJP general secretary Ram Madhav that the TDP government was corrupt. He questioned who helped Vijay Malya and Neerav Modi to escape from India after evading bank loans in several crores of rupees.

He said the BJP-led NDA government was corrupt and its leaders were involved in scams. He alleged that the BJP was trying to join hands with the YSRCP in the State. Kesineni said people of Andhra Pradesh do not trust the BJP as it had failed to fulfill 18 assurances made in AP Reorganistion Act-2014.

Referring to the allegations made by BJP leaders that the TDP government was not serious in resolving the problems of 32 lakh AgriGold victims, the MP said BJP president Amit Shah created hurdles when Essel Group came forward to purchase the properties of the AgriGold.

He questioned as to why the BJP government at the Centre was not purchasing the properties of the AgriGold and repaying deposits to the customers. He said the Union government can also help the AgriGold victims.

He further questioned as to why the BJP units of Telangana and Karnataka were not speaking on the AgriGold case. He said the TDP government is committed to solve the AgriGold case and provide justice to the victims.

He flayed the BJP leaders for not visiting the cyclone-hit Srikakulam district.  Reacting to the criticism launched by the BJP on TDP regarding AgriGold scam, Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Ananda Babu said that there was no meaning in the saffron party organising protests in the State.

Speaking to the media in Guntur, he alleged that the BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana was extending support to the AgriGold management instead of victims. He said the BJP leaders helped the management representatives to escape. He said that the state government attached all the properties of the company.
