Women protest denial of entry into temple
Vijayawada: Women led by All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) organised a candlelight rally over denial of women in Sabarimala Ayyappa temple at Lenin Centre here on Monday evening.
The agitators demanded that the government take stern action on the temple priest for closing down Shabarimala Temple restricting women entry into the temple.
Speaking to the media, AIDWA president K Sridevi demanded that the authorities implement Supreme Court orders and allow women to enter Sabarimala temple.
She wanted arrest of the priest for closing the temple doors. She said that entering the temple for Darshan was the right of women.
Durgamba of a women organisation said attacks on women by BJP and RSS should stop and goons pretending as devotees should be arrested.
