GITAM to offer Investment and Wealth Management programmes soon

Visakhapatnam: To offer Investment and Wealth Management (ICWIM) programmes in the country, GITAM University signed an MoU with UK-based Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) here on Tuesday in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during the Vizag Fintech Festival. 

GITAM Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivarama Krishna, Registrar Prof M Potharju, Institute of Management Principal Prof P Sheela, GITAM Fintech Academy Coordinator Leben Johnson exchanged the MoU documents with CISI officials.

The CISI is an international professional body based in UK developing world-class professionals across 116 countries with more than 45,000 members serving many multinational companies. The CISI has been dedicated to professionalism since it emerged from the London Stock Exchange in 1992.

As part of MoU, the CISI will provide assistance to GITAM to enable students to achieve the professional qualifications in Investment and Wealth Management (ICWIM) and Investment Operations Certificate (IOC). The CISI also authorise GITAM to be the official test centre for all its International examinations.

The MoU also helps both the organisations to organise joint seminars, conferences, panel discussions, fund common research projects and publications and train the trainer and teacher to be provided by CISI at GITAM premises frequently at free of cost.  The CISI should assist placement, recruitment for IOC qualified students, besides providing internship for CISI pursuing students.
