Students march in sync
Vijayawada: Vijnana Tarang, a unique Ghosh Pradarshan was a treat for the spectators organised by Vijnana Vihara Educational Institutions at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium here on Wednesday.
About 500 students participated in the Ghosh Pradarshan with their march past according to the rhythm of the band. It was organised on the occasion of pre-centenary celebration of Dr Vikram Sarabhai ‘The father of India’s Space Programme’.
Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner J Nivas in his inaugural speech appreciated the management of Vijnana Vihara Educational Institutions for taking the initiative to organise Ghosh Pradarshan to mark the pre-centenary celebration of Dr Vikram Sarabhai.
He said that it was a great festive feast for the eyes and ears. He said that this programme was first of its kind in the state.
These scientific things which were displayed will create a scientific temper in the students.
He said that more of these kinds of events should be organised in the days to come by institutions, he added.
Badri Narayana Murthy, Associate Director, SDSC-SHAR said that the country was in need of soldiers and scientists and this type of programmes would create inspiration and responsibility in the students to choose these fields.
GV Krishna Kumar, Additional Director, NSTL scientist-DRDO said that the preset generation children if tuned properly would be tomorrow's scientists and recalled the importance of October 24 as UNO day. He said that the programme exhibits integrity and Unity.
Institution organising secretary Lingam Sudhakar, and other dignitaries, and others were present. About 5000 students along with their parents were present.
